Application: Hand hygiene - cleansing bar which provides residual protection against Healthcare Acquired Infection (HAI) and common pathogens such as MRSA, EColi and VRE.
The problem: In today's world, there was an increasing need for an over-the-counter product that cleaned hands effectively (unlike alcohol hand gels), successfully killed bacteria and was kind to the skin.
Customer product realisation services:
- Formulated a range of fast-releasing Corglaes®Ag for SSC to incorporate into soap bars.
- Analysed soap bars for silver release levels and compatibilty within the soap.
- Optimised the silver release Corglaes®Ag
- Subcontracted microbial testing against a range of pathogens.

Client Solution: Giltech successfully incorporated its Corglaes®Ag into a rich moisturing cleansing bar with superb residual protection. The silver-ion release is instant once activated in water allowing the silver-ions to thoroughly cleanse the skin of unwanted pathogens for up to five hours.
Product success: Silvatec out-performs traditional methods of hand cleansing. It is a unique over-the-counter product giving consumers professional protection whilst being kind to both skin and the environment.
