Giltech’s managing director, Gillian Watson, was recently appointed to the West Regional Advisory Board of Scottish Enterprise.

 

Giltech is delighted to welcome Jason King to the management team in the role of Business Development Director. Jason will work to create development and commercialisation opportunities across multiple sectors for Giltech’s world-leading controlled-release and biodegradable technologies.
All of Jason´s previous roles over the past ten years have involved the commercialisation of unique materials-related technologies through industrial research collaborations with large, multinational partner companies.
Previously Jason was Vice President for Business Development with Avantium Technologies in the Netherlands and then Business Development Director of hte AG in Germany before leading the start-up of MatOx Ltd., an Oxford-based IP development and commercialisation business focused on advanced materials.

Scottish Enterprise has five Regional Advisory Boards (RABs) which were established to advise on the best way to maximise the contribution of each region to Scotland’s economic growth, through:

· Ensuring industry alignment and providing strategic direction
· Prioritisation of resources
· Identification and development of major projects

The RABs are also intended to be a source of advice and influence for Scottish Enterprise’s Executive Leadership Team on:

· Strategy and policy development
· Industry policy
· Business planning and other processes

The advisory boards meet about four times per year and have up to 18 board members made up mainly from the private sector but also includes partner organisations, such as local authorities and the higher education sector.
